I’m the tech junkie that hates using cases but this one has a really solid build, comes in a variety colors, and is just plain attractive. I bought one on Amazon.com really cheap but they retail for $35.
1. Tiny Tower (Android & iOS) Free

I might be late to the Tiny Tower craze, but this Sim City like business manager is one of the most fun games I’ve played on my iPhone to date. The game may be dressed in an eight-bit suit, but the design of the game is very thought out. The game can also be thought of as a “Freemium” game, but I find it easy to play without any use of in-app purchases. Development in the game comes from stocking shops with gear, residential employees, and your time. The game has a very clever use of push notifications to always keep you up-to-date. Warning: Tiny Tower can get extremely addicting, cute, and hilarious.

2. Tetris (Updated) (iOS) $1

The first iteration of Tetris for the iPhone was lackluster and didn’t really leave much of an impression, but now with the enhanced graphics, more tactile feeling controls, and the new gameplay modes, theres something in the new Tetris for everyone. One-touch, a mode where you click on-screen number options to land bricks, seemed like a bust at first glance, but I find myself only playing one-touch now. It’s fast, it’s simple, and rewarding! You can buy things with your Tetris bucks you earn through hours of gameplay. As soon as I made $3000 Tetris bucks, I bought the 8-bit classic Tetris song, what a classic.

3. Grand Theft Auto 3 (Android & iOS) $3 (Holiday Price)

Grand Theft Auto will always have a special place in my heart, and while this game truly only plays perfectly on the A5 chip/Tegra2 chipset, it is such a marvel to have on a mobile platform, let alone a mobile phone. You know the stories, this sandbox classic is a great pick up and play kind of game, but the missions really do shine with live voice-overs. Once you play this game on an iPad 2, your expectations of what you thought was possible on a tablet will be blown away. Though nothing will beat the tactile controls of the PS2 paddle, this touch iteration is amazing.

iPhone 4 GSM

iPhone 4 GSM

The Samsung Multiview

This is an awesome idea. I have never been a fan of Samsung’s camera lenses, but I love Samsung’s innovative ideas when it comes to photography. For example, the cameras they shipped with dual lcds made for easy front facing shots.

Just for comparisons sake.

Just for comparisons sake.

BAD SAMSUNG!

Though this case wasn’t made by Samsung themselves, the case was made by a high end case maker whom is featured in all of Samsung’s flagship stores. I really want Samsung to find their own image, their own feel. Just approving this design in their stores (which Apple is already taking legal action against) is a poor mark on Sammy’s record.

minimalmac:

A screen that clicks. To enable actions, the phone would recognize your touch capacitively, but required a physical punch with your finger to activate the command (Think MacBook trackpads). This ended up being a mess for the keyboard and well a lot of the phone’s UI for that matter. But it is a good concept, this could add for whole new layers in software. For example, maybe in the mail app when you touch a conversation it shows the message but when you click the conversation a pop-up would display enabling you to drag and flag/delete/markunread the message. Did you keep up with me or do I sound absolutely nuts?

The Kindle Fire at $200.

This month we all got to taste all new updates to Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. I am happy to say I am liking all of the updates. Though Facebook will retain it’s cluttered homepage, Twitter’s two-pane aesthetic is now gone, and Google+ still doesn’t quite make sense, it’s nice to see these tech giants innovate together. Next year I’m hoping for even more simple Facebook privacy controls (with a more streamlined newsfeed), A better use of pane space for Twitter, and a more finished product from Google.

raisakuddus:

Unattractive name, but this camera has my heart. Has the interchangeable lenses of an SLR, but the portability of an average point-and-shoot. It also shoots images on par with top Sony SLR cameras. Despite Facebook enabling everyone that owns an SLR to be a “professional photographer” SLR’s pack 5x more features than average consumers even know how to use. This camera combines the best of both worlds.
